Join thought leaders and changemakers across Southeast Asia to chart a bold, inclusive vision for human development toward ASEAN 2045.
Register hereSince its founding in 1967, ASEAN has championed human development as a cornerstone of regional progress—advancing income, education, and longevity across Southeast Asia. Over time, this vision has broadened to include human rights, inclusive governance, and workforce development in a changing global economy.
Key milestones such as the ASEAN Charter (2007), the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (2012), and the Human Resources Development Declaration (2020) reflect ASEAN’s deepening commitment to a people-centred community. The AEC and ASCC Blueprints for 2025 further embed priorities like equitable growth, lifelong learning, social protection, and gender equality.
As ASEAN looks ahead to 2045, this conference provides a timely platform for governments, civil society, academia, and the private sector to shape the region’s next-generation human development agenda.
The purpose of the conference is to organise a formal dialogue to discuss ASEAN’s human development goals and strategies, considering interrelated political, economic, social and cultural dimensions. As a space for dialogue, the conference will bring together different ASEAN stakeholders, international development organisations, private sector representatives, civil society organisations, and youth and student leaders.
The expected output of the conference is a written compilation of Proceedings in e-book format of speeches and policy papers in an accessible style for the general public as well as a video of the online streaming of the conference for participants not participating in real time.
